Blue Back Bungalow

We really enjoyed our stay and the check-in/out process was easy. The location, decor, and parking were great. We were very grateful there wasn’t a list of cleaning or chores to do before we left. I don’t know if this is the best property for elderly people. The stairs are hard to navigate and don’t have a bannister all the way up, the rugs and thresholds between rooms are tripping hazards, the floors slant, and the level of the bottom of the tub is lower than then floor. These are all things that happen with an older home, it was just a slight hiccup we encountered and wish we would have thought about/known about before hand. The only other issue we had was we could hear the person in the basement apartment’s daily activities a lot more than anticipated. Unfortunately, the person seemed under the weather and listening to the coughing and throat clearing was a bit unpleasant. Overall, it was a very nice stay!

We can't wait for our next visit north to stay here again. Great location with easy access to the highway, Hartford entertainment, etc. -- and just a short walk to West Harfford Center. And our favorite Chinese (Black Bamboo, thanks Sunny!) is just around the corner. The home is perfect for us, with the 1/2 bath downstairs being an added bonus. The upstairs renovated bathroom is great too. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a coffee maker (with coffee supplied) and delicious home made cookies courtesy of the host. The smart TV allowed us to log in to streaming services to see a couple of our shows, watching from a very comfortable living room couch. The beds are likewise comfortable, and the house is nicely decorated with interesting and varied artwork. Finally, the home is immaculately maintained. A rare gem in West Harford Center, perfect for a couple or a small family.

Nice two story home on a quiet street. Clesn and well supplied. Homey decor and decorative touches. Nice front porch to sit in and drink our coffee. We enjoyed staying there.

The bungalow is in a great location - close to I84 and West Hartford center. The kitchen had a lot of great appliances to make cooking easy. The coffee pot was a Keurig/carafe combo - which we really liked. We enjoyed drinking our morning coffee on the front porch. We would definitely stay her again!

Alexander was a very good host—very responsive when we asked questions. Very nice house and each bed room was spacious with a large closet and a TV. The kitchen was updated with modern appliances.
